I don’t know about you, but I feel pretty blessed to live in Vancouver when summer rolls around. The city is bustling with excited individuals looking forward to days spent at the beach, the air is smells of lilacs, and that sun is oh so hot. Though we spent a few rainy month dreaming of summer and feeling as if it would never come, it’s finally here. My goal this summer? Do things! I always say I’m going to fill my summers with events, activities, festivals, and the like, but it always slips away before I get a change. Well, not this year! Here is a list of 20 amazing events taking place in and around Vancouver this summer, and I know you won’t want to miss these! Get those calendars out.

Italian Day on the Drive 2017
June 11th
Commercial Drive, Vancouver

This year’s theme: Amore (love). This vibrant cultural festival celebrates Vancouver’s phenomenal Italian community. The celebration is 17 blocks long and includes food, entertainment, activities, and a whole lot of fun.Credit: Italian Day on the Drive 

Science World: After Dark

I feel like the only things stopping me from checking out science world more often (or at all for that matter) is that lack of alcohol and the excess of kids. Well, not on June 16th! Greek Day on Broadway 2017

Greek Day on Broadway is the final event of a month long Greek Heritage Festival in Vancouver. A five block stretch of Broadway, from McDonald to Blenheim will be closed to make way for this incredible festival. There will be greek food a drink, market vendors, entertainment, and live music. YVR Food Fest 2017
June 29th - July 3rd

Get your stretch-waste pants ready, it’s almost time for the summer’s biggest food festival! featuring TED talks, a massive Canada Day BBQ, live bands, a long table dinner featuring top chefs from around the world, the largest outdoor brunch in the history of the city, and the signature event: The Street Food Showdown. The Ultimate Canada Day and Night Party 2017

Canada is turing 150! This events spans over the entire day on July 1st. This annual music festival takes place in Holland Park in Surrey BC and is non-stop fun. Taco Fest 2017

Night Nation Run Vancouver

Port Moody Ribfest 2017

The Deighton Cup 2017

KitsFest 2017

If you haven’t noticed, Kits is filled with health and wellness. People jogging, swimming, paddle boarding, biking, doing yoga, and so on. Well, this festival aims to celebrate that!
