Vinyl record sales have been up, up, up over the past few years, and Vancouver has quite a number of great independent record stores that have great selection and fair prices. If you’re thinking of doing a little record shopping, it can be tough to know where to go. At these four Vancouver record stores, you can probably do no wrong.
Audiopile - 2016 Commercial Drive
Audiopile may not be as well curated as some of the other places on this list, but it really shines when it comes to pure selection, as well as affordable prices. The staff are friendly, and you’re sure to find something you didn’t know you were looking for.
Red Cat Records - 4332 Main Street
Red Cat is a kind of hub in the Vancouver music scene, partially because it’s a great spot to get tickets for local shows. The staff are nice, the selection is good, and the used records are always at good prices.
Dandelion Records - 2442 Main Street
Dandelion is a tiny little shop, and aside from records they sell a lot of other stuff like home decorations, stationery, and esoteric items. They’ve always got cool, rare records up on the wall, and a good assortment of new and used releases.
Neptoon Records - 3561 Main Street
Another spot on Main Street, Neptoon has many things besides records, such as silkscreened posters, CDs, DVDs, cassettes and more. Best of all, though, is that they’ve got tons of unusual and rare records at great prices.
